Ron Paul on energy and Iran

Briefly - high energy prices are in part due to demand outgrowing supply, but also because of the four trillion deficit dollars printed to fund the war in Iraq and because of the fear premium of an impending US-Israeli attack on Iran. House Resolution 362 is a virtual declaration of war.

It's a shame that the US is so soft on Iran, just as on Iraq.

The US should confiscate the oil of Iraq and Iran to pay their expenses for the war.

Why should they defend democracy everywhere in the world for free to the other countries? Why should the US taxpayer suffer to rid the world of tyrants?

The unpopularity of US and its allies in Iraq would probably be increased with the insurgents and terrorist propaganda if it seized oil to pay its military expenses.

However, everything in the world is a commercial enterprize. If countries want freedom, they should pay the expenses of getting rid of dictators.

This should also apply to the UK, which has higher taxes as a result of its military contributions to Iraq and Afghanistan.

What really sickens me is the fact that there is so much criticism of the US and UK despite their liberation of people from dictatorships without charge.

The ability of terrorists and their fellow-travellers to endlessly publish propaganda in the media is shameful.

When the US and its allies next fight a war, they should get to grips with the propaganda side to the combat. It is traditional for the US to fail to explain to the people it is liberating exactly why it is liberating them (e.g. the Vietnam War).

The whole propaganda war is absent, it's not just a case that it is badly mismanaged. The right of free speech should not be given to propagandarists who are fighting a propaganda war to recruit terrorists and their funders.

There should be no free speech for freedom haters who support dictatorial regimes.

Preaching hatred or tolerance towards evil regimes should not be a permitted freedom. Those who preach propaganda designed to aid terrorism sympathies against democracies should be arrested for treason.

There should be no freedom for terrorists or their recruitment propaganda.
